About the Department

The Operations Department manages DNDi’s corporate infrastructure globally across eight locations through its Business Development, Finance, Human Resources, Information Systems and Technology, Legal Affairs, and Project Management Office teams. The Department plays a central role in DNDi’s compliance and performance. DNDi's Information Systems and Technology (IST) department plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's mission. The IST department provides leadership on IT matters, builds solutions adapted to business needs, and ensures the smooth operation of systems and tools to support daily operations. The department's vision is to enhance information sharing, support decision-making, and reduce risks by developing and maintaining reliable, flexible, and scalable technical solutions. Key objectives include ensuring business continuity, transitioning to AI augmented services, and promoting
knowledge management and collaborative practices.

About the Office

DNDi established its South-East Asia office in Kuala Lumpur in 2004. DNDi South-East Asia develops and supports R&D and access partnerships in Malaysia and the neighbouring region that are central to delivering DNDi’s global strategy, particularly in the areas of hepatitis C and dengue.

Overview

The objective of this assignment is to strengthen the IST team in its capacity to deliver projects and to analyze business needs across financial solutions (eg EPM,ERP), data management, reporting, or AI-related initiatives.The Consultant will lead key cross-functional initiatives across departments and teams to improve system performance, enhance data availability, and drive overall organizational efficiency across DNDi and GARDP.

Responsibilities

The Consultant will be responsible for leading and delivering key Information Systems and Technology (IST) initiatives to support DNDi and GARDP operations. The role focuses on project delivery, system improvement, data management, and digital transformation across financial systems and analytics platforms.


The Consultant will hold the following responsibilities:
• As Senior Project Manager the consultant will lead IST projects and drive improvements in coordination with functional teams and external experts.
• Conduct business analysis to document business requirements and turn them into actionable documentation and specification.
• Support reporting and analytics initiatives, leveraging Power BI capabilities, financial data modelling, AI use cases, and delivering user training.
• Drive system integrations, including APIs, interfaces, and add-ins, in coordination with the IST team.
• Document tacit knowledge, to lay the foundation for the establishment of IST Centre of Excellence in Malaysia.
• Support financial systems compliance and audit readiness, including documentation, internal controls, and follow-up on remediation actions.

 

Main Deliverables  
The Consultant is expected to provide regular updates (minimum every 2 weeks) to track progress and ensure alignment with project objectives.

• User adoption and change management support
• Integration specifications and implementation support
• Audit and compliance documentation
• Continuous improvement and automation initiatives (including AI where relevant)
• Data governance and stakeholder coordination

Reporting line & Interactions

  • The Senior IST Project Manager Consultant will report operationally to the DNDi South-East Asia (SEA) Director or to other designated DNDi representatives, as agreed.
  • For technical and functional matters (DNDi reference person), the Consultant will work closely with the Head of Information Systems, who will serve as the primary reference person for IST-related activities.

Experience and Education

  • Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager in cross-functional environments, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Strong expertise in ERP and EPM financial systems (mandatory), with preferred experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Tagetik
  • Strong understanding of financial processes, including planning, budgeting, and payroll/salary-related processes
  • Solid experience in data modelling, reporting, and analytics
  • Advanced expertise in Power BI (certification highly desirable)
  • Experience in data management, analytics
  • Experience with AI development desirable
  • Experience with system integrations (APIs, interfaces, add-ins)
  • Experience in NGO or international non-profit environments, with understanding of funding mechanisms
  • Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and matrix structure
  • Experience of working in public and private sector is highly desirable
  • Advanced post graduate degree or graduate degree with equivalent in experience to reach Master level
